"As a holistic wellbeing practitioner I have a deep belief that true wellbeing comes from nurturing the whole person - mind, body, spirit, and environment. My approach is rooted in the understanding that we are complex, interconnected beings, and lasting transformation happens when all aspects of self are supported"

Elise Blunkett-Evans. Founder of Essence & Ember holistic wellbeing.

Let me introduce myself, I am Elise. My journey into this work began following a challenging period in my personal life, which led me to explore spirituality and self-development. What started as a search for healing became a lifelong path. I went on to train in psychotherapy, Brain Working Recursive Therapy  (BWRT®), Reiki energy healing, and trauma-informed life coaching, developing a powerful toolkit to support others on their own journeys.

As well as the therapy work I do today, I am also very fortunate, in that I get to travel the world as cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic part time. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to combine all my passions and to call this work. This however is not where my career began. I started my career many years ago in the Interior design industry

Today, I combine my professional training with lived experience to support deep, lasting transformation—both mentally and physically. My work integrates energy healing, allowing me to address underlying energetic imbalances that influence every aspect of our being. Alongside this, I work with belief systems through life coaching, helping you gently reframe patterns, navigate challenges, and move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and resilience.

I also incorporate interior styling into my work with a focus on colour psychology and biophilic focused styling. Working with your environment in this way ensures it is fully aligned with your inner world. Colour, light, layout, and texture all have a profound effect on our mood, emotions, nervous system, and overall sense of balance—making your space an essential part of your wellbeing journey.

I believe that no matter where you are in life, transformation is always possible. “Where your attention goes, your energy flows”. When you begin to truly understand yourself, nature, your mind, body and energy systems, you create the space for powerful, lasting change. With the right support, you can create a life that feels aligned, empowered, and truly your own.

Always remember… “In a world where nothing is certain, anything is possible”.

The journey that led me to my calling…..

In 2013 a pivotal moment came while working as cabin crew when I was diagnosed with Polymyositis, a serious autoimmune condition. This was a condition that potentially could leave me in a wheelchair. In realising the seriousness of the condition I immediately chose not to accept this into my reality and that moment became a real turning point. I turned inward working with the power of my mind, belief systems, and energy work using colour visualisation, and meditation. Within a matter of months, my blood levels returned to normal. Over a decade later, I remain in remission. This experience fundamentally transformed my understanding of the body’s innate ability to heal, and it continues to shape the way I support others today.

I went on to develop my knowledge in various healing modalities and decided to professionally train in psychotherapy and later in Brain Working Recursive Therapy  (BWRT®), In 2017 I started seeing clients alongside my aviation career. Unfortunately, in 2019, the world as we knew it was turned upside down by Covid, my inner world was no different. My long-term relationship ended, I moved out of my home, and just two weeks later, I was made redundant from my long-standing aviation career. My world felt like it was falling apart. To add to the turmoil, less than a month before, my parents’ family home had caught fire, leaving the property reduced to its bare brickwork. In the immediate trauma of the fire, my mother suffered a heart attack—thankfully, she made a good recovery, but the impact on all of us was profound.

After redundancy I chose to view this as an opportunity for the next chapter, after all life is all but a series of chapters in the book we call Life. I therefore joined the police as a police officer. It is incredible when you realise some of the most challenging times in life are actually the greatest catalyst for growth. I pushed myself beyond my comfort zone, worked with my belief systems and strengthened my resilience, and I went on to pursue a career that had always quietly interested me in the background.

What initially felt difficult ultimately led me to expand my boundaries and step into something new and meaningful. Working on the frontline as a police officer and later in a detective based role specialising in high-risk domestic abuse, I witnessed first hand the profound impact of trauma—both seen and unseen. It was work I felt deeply connected to, shaped in part by my own life experiences. However, it also highlighted a gap: the lack of deeper, long-term emotional and psychological support available to those navigating these challenges.

After more than two years in the police, and recognising the impact that stress and trauma can have on both mind and body, I made the decision to step away—choosing alignment over security. Leaving the police without another role in place was one of the most defining decisions I’ve made. It wasn’t led by logic or ego, it was instead led by intuition and that inner calling to pursue my path in holistic wellbeing and align with my true life’s purpose. This choice allowed me to fully dedicate myself to creating meaningful, lasting impact—supporting others through my knowledge, lived experiences, and an intuitive approach. I went on at this point to develop my professional holistic training and added to my toolkit by training in Reiki energy healing and as a Trauma informed life coach.

After returning to my wellbeing work following my time in the police, I was also fortunate enough to regain my role flying with Virgin. I feel incredibly lucky to do what I love most—supporting others through my wellbeing work and taking to the skies. To be able to call both of these passions my work is something I never take for granted. It truly feels like a blessing to be living and working in alignment with my purpose.

Life will always present us with challenges. The difference is often found in the tools we have in our toolbox to help us navigate those difficult seasons. My most recent challenge was losing my father a year ago. Grief has been one of the hardest journeys I’ve faced, but through every challenge life has brought me, I’ve learned that there are always lessons, growth, and opportunities for deeper understanding waiting on the other side.

Everything I have experienced, navigated, and overcome has shaped the work I do today. My purpose is to help others build their own toolkit through trauma-informed life coaching, empowering them to move through life’s challenges with greater resilience, self-awareness, and confidence. Alongside this, my energy work helps people reconnect with themselves, find alignment, and create a life that feels authentic and true to who they are.

A big part of this mission is creating opportunities for genuine human connection through my wellbeing events. In a world that can often feel disconnected and fast-paced, I believe there is something incredibly powerful about bringing people together in a safe and supportive space. When we connect, share our experiences, and realise we are not alone in our struggles, healing and growth become possible in ways we may never have imagined.

I truly believe that even in our most difficult moments, growth is possible, healing is available, and a deeper sense of purpose can emerge. My hope is that through coaching, energy work, and community events, I can help others reconnect with themselves, build meaningful connections with others, and create a life that feels aligned, fulfilling, and true to who they are.
